Cycle club Luton was formed in 1972 and since then has been amongst the most successful cycle racing clubs in the area with riders progressing to success at national and international level.Whilst our background is primarily road cycling, our riders compete in almost all areas of cycle sport both at regional and national level including: road racing, mountain bike cross country, track racing, cyclo-cross, road time trials

We also have riders who participate in cyclosportifs both in the UK and abroad where the challenge is not so much to win, as simply to complete the event. Some UK events we have ridden – Phil & Friends, Dragon Ride, Polka Dot Challenge. Foreign events have included – Etape du Tour, Tour of Flanders, Gran Fondo Campagnolo and many others

The club also has a strong tradition of social trips (with and without bikes) including: an annual hostel trip, trips to the continent to watch professional road races

Our club runs start at 9:30am from the roundabout at the top of Barton cutting (on the A6 just north of Luton) every Saturday and Sunday.  The rides normally cover approximately 50 miles mainly over country lanes at an average speed of around 17mph with a cafe stop halfway.  We also have training rides that are organised on a more casual basis throughout the year.  Click here for more details.
